The Blessing of the Hartsville Community Garden was a wonderful event in Hartsville this afternoon as children and adults gathered together to celebrate the vision come to life.

Hartsville Mayor Mel Mel Pennington welcomed the crowd and introduced the following:
Rev. Reginald McLeod of Kay Branch Missionary Baptist Church; Howard Tripp, Hartsville Family YMCA representing Pioneering Healthy Communities; Wanda James, City Councilwoman and Head Start; Ed Guest, Volunteer and avid Gardener; and Nancy Myers, Director of the Hartsville Community Garden.
