Annual Swamp Fox Quilt Exhibit at Hartsville Museum
The Swamp Fox Quilters have opened their 2010 Challenge exhibit at the Hartsville Museum. This year’s theme is “Remember When”. The yearly challenge has been a greatly anticipated event since the early beginning of the guild. The Swamp Fox Quilters were organized in 1980. They exhibit many skillful techniques and a great variety of materials when designing their quilts.
The quilters hold their annual meeting at the museum on the opening day of the exhibit and cast votes for ribbon winners in a variety of categories. Museum visitors are invited to vote for their favorite quilt while they are on exhibit from June 3, 2010 – August 27, 2010. On the last day of the exhibit, the votes will be counted and a winner, “The People’s Choice” will be announced.
Anyone interested in joining this group can get more information from the Hartsville Museum (843.383.3005). The Museum is open Monday – Friday from 10 am – 5 pm and on Saturdays from 10 am – 2 pm. Admission is free.
