BowThai Kitchen

My family went to BowThai Kitchen last night and had quite an enjoyable meal.  Opened this week by locals Donny and Peete Quist, the place was abuzz last night with all tables full at about 8pm.  I saw several friends and even a fellow HVTD’er while we were there.

Service was better than you’d expect for the fourth day of service from new restaurateurs, and the food was very good.  We waited a few minutes for initial service but after that things zipped along, and my tea glass was never empty.

Our table had Pad Thai, Stir-Fried Brocolli, and Pineapple Rice Stir Fry.  We shared, and my favorite by far was the Pineapple Rice.  I’m not normally a fan of fruit in my dinner, but this was surprisingly good.

Next time, we’ll try out the Thai curries.

We finished with a delightful dessert: deep-friend banana in a wonton and honey.

Prices for entrees are $9-15.

BowThai Kitchen is located between The Midnight Rooster and Louchi’s, and is a nice addition to Hartsville’s Downtown district.

It’s delicious!!

We went on Monday night and had the spring rolls, Panang Curry with tofu and the Red Curry with chicken.  The entrees were spicy, flavorful and just a delight.  All the ingredients were fresh and perfectly cooked, and came with a generous helping of rice.  We had enough to bring home leftovers!  Can’t wait to try the salmon and tilapia entrees.
It’s open Mon - Thurs 11-3pm, 5-9pm Fri-Sat 11-3pm, 5-10pm

It is pretty good, sure is a change from the bad American Chinese food around here. But I don’t think you get enough food for the price, not enough protein for sure; it certainly isn’t a place to eat lunch at everyday as it is expensive, my husband went and his lunch cost was $17, and he was only drinking water! I will return, but not as often as I would like.

We went the other night for dinner, as a business owner here in town, I can honestly say The service was top notch and the food was even better. I really hope this place does well. I do not have one single complaint. “Bow Thai - Glad you are here.”

I went the first week it was opened and the service was bad, I thought I was at Applebees… It was me and my two kids (14 and 9). We all left hungry (and we are not big people or big eaters) and our food cost $47. I may go back for lunch, just to try again, but I don’t know how this place is going to go over.

Just go to Bishopville. If you are in the mood for Thai there is a great place there, right on the main road left hand side, Bangkok thai, I believe is the name, awesome food, great owner who comes out and talks to you, it is worth the few extra minutes drive time.

Never ate Thai before. Have done take-out several times here. Pretty good, in my opinion.
