Darlington County Family Devastated By Tornado
The Melton family of Seven Pines Road were hard hit by a tornado that ravaged the Darlington area Sunday night. While Johnny Melton was working the refueling outage at Progress Energy, his wife, Marie, and their son, Josh, and a friend were buried in the rubble of their home by the tornado.
It is reported that the three were transported to the hospital with minor injuries after being pulled from the rubble. The house, barn, stables and horse trailer were all destroyed.
I am praying for a swift recovery of the injured. I am so glad that the Melton family survived the storm. Donations are being collected by the maintenance shop at Progress Energy to sustain the family. They lost nearly everything in the storm.
