What the heck happened to Conway this year? Their record is 4-5! I know every team has bad seasons, but this is rare for Conway.
No one can accuse Conway of recruiting that’s for sure, unlike some other high schools that never have “down” years.
I think the news reported that the Conway team was hit by the flu. Maybe some of the sick players were not able to return.
I know Sumter lost two games. Who beat the Gamecocks?
I messed up earlier when I said Sumter is ranked 67. Conway is ranked 67 and Sumter is ranked 21.
Sorry about that. Sumter lost their first two games to Crestwood(Sumter) and Stratford(Goose Creek). They have been on a winning streak ever since. I hope Hartsville can stop them!
Thanks to Buster Freeman and Jimmy White for the great job they did of describing all the exciting action in last Friday’s game. I tuned in during the 3rd quarter and heard how the Foxes’ defense stopped the Bruins inside the five yard line. Then my heart raced through the last minute of the game when WF had first down and goal to go on the one-yard line and four cracks at scoring. Our great defense jammed up the middle of the line and as time ran out, WF had the ball one foot from the goal line! What a great game this was!
Hope many people will be there this Friday night for the home finale, Sr. Parents’ Night, against Sumter for the regional championship. Sumter beat Conway 55-14. This should be a good game, hopefully not the nail-biter like last Friday night!
