Four Govies Named Presidential Scholar Candidates

Four S.C. Governor’s School for Science and Mathematics seniors have been named candidates for the 2010 U.S. Presidential Scholars Program. The nearly 50-year-old program honors young people for outstanding academic achievement, artistic excellence, leadership, citizenship and community service.

The students - Ramiz Hamid of Saint Helena, Millie Griffin of Florence, Dominic Ranz Ebarle Errazo of Goose Creek and Somin (Susie) Lee of Greenville - are among 68 S.C. seniors notified about the honor.
