Group prays for the City of Hartsville
Churches from around the area came together in Burry Park Saturday for prayer and song. The event was sponsored and organized by the First Pentecostal Holiness Church on Swift Creek Road in Hartsville.
“We recognized there’s a need for unity among the churches,” Rev Alvin Rogers of First Pentecostal said.
He invited more than 200 churches to participate in the Prayer for the City and wanted to bring all the churches in the area together.
The event included singing by The Tyners of Hartsville as well as prayers for repentance, healing, revival restoration, love, unity and strength.
Elder Jeanette Jenkins said the idea for the event came to her in a vision in November.
“It’s a time for God’s people to come together to pray for a change in the city,” Jenkins said.
