Hartsville Legion defeats Conway 3-1 Friday to continue in playoffs

CONWAY – Hartsville Legion Post 53 upset Conway Legion Post 111 with a 3-1 victory in game five of the best-of-five series on Friday in Conway to continue to the second round of playoffs against Sumter on Monday.
Hartsville’s Cody Mincey pitched a complete game on two days rest and had nine strike outs and three hits.
Hartsville will play Monday at Sumter’s Riley Park, at Jimmy White Park in Hartsville on Tuesday and again in Sumter Wednesday. If needed, game four will be played in Hartsville and game five in Sumter. Game times are all 7:30 p.m.
Sumter earned its playoff spot after winning three games in a row last week.
