Hartsville Today
Facebook does not seem to have any Hartsville related pages that show any significant participation. I look in on HVTD about once a week but don’t always sign in.
76 views currently in less than a week since the original posting. Sure it’s less than desired, but maybe if more contribute (ie, write something or post a link) perhaps we can bring it back to close to what it once was. Heck, Bubba is considering a lawsuit based on sex discrimination against the Midnight Rooster for not giving adquate consideration to naming it the Midnight Hen.
I’ll do my part, whay say you?
Thanks for the input. I have been very neglectful of this site myself, it used to be such fun to post on here when I could add more photos, the one photo-per-post kills me since I can never choose just one.
To be honest, the new layout is not that great but what is the most off-putting to me is the mint green, it reminds me of a hospital. I really, really miss the old site but will quit complaining about that.
If folks are not already following it you should log on to R. A. Puffer’s blog to see how he is spending part of his sabbatical in Kenya:

I agree jkelly it’s not facebook. i used to check this site often but now it’s only once per week mainly b/c the software is not user-friendly. i understand the administrator’s not @ fault, they are doing what they are told i’m sure.
Saying “oh they’re doing the best they can” is misleading, as it implies anyone is doing anything about it. Media General doesn’t care about this site, and will let it die.
Forum software that doesn’t suck can be had for less than $100.
I don’t know if they are “doing the best they can” but I suspect they have all hands occupied just running the core business. My guess is that this is a sideline for them with the SC Now and print editions eclipsing any time they may have for hvtd.
Hello Ted, I believe I saw you the last time I was home. You were sitting in the Dr’s outer office close to Mr Bish Northcutt when my mom and I came through to see my sister.
9iron, that wasn’t me. Last time I was in town was a couple of years ago and I didn’t visit the doctor on that trip.
I think we need to rally the troops and try and revive HVTD. Come on Almost Famous, Sandy Sue, 9iron. We need something interesting to talk about.
A few and I don’t think FB is the culprit. I usually check things out a couple of times a week myself but the site seems to be on life support. I know Doug & them are doing the best they can but the choice the company made in forum software IMO was a mistake. It is not user friendly at all. It’s tough enough to keep a forum running and when you have to hand build features and functions you loose the members interest having to wait.
