It used to be that neighbors would help each other out with chores if the other neighbor could not or if they were away for awhile. Well, it seems like the people in West Richardson Circle have lost that attitude and are all for themselves and screw Thy Neighbor!
I agree that neighbors would help out. Like get your mail/paper if you on vacation, feed your pet and water your plants while you sick in the hospital. Now most people dont even know their neighbors name, much less their phone number if they needed to call them to tell them there is a prowler in their back yard. And forget a “welcome to the neighborhood” visit. Sad state of affairs- how about a street party to meet the neighbors. Would like to see one on Georgian Drive…would be willing to organize it.
The problem with helping thy neighbor, is that often those helped get lazy and expect it. I will gladly help my neighbor, but I expect him to provide small, portable portraits of dead presidents for my efforts. I am particularly fond of Andrew Jackson.
