High Performance Computing Comes to GSSM

Less than two weeks after the April 16 donation of 30 laptop computers from Google Inc., S.C. Governor’s School for Science and Mathematics students have already begun polishing the advanced computational techniques they’ll need to pursue computer science and engineering careers in college.
Students, with the help of GSSM’s Chief Information Officer Jon Shannon, and Dr. Sebastien Goasguen, assistant professor in Clemson University’s School of Computing, recently built the first-ever high-performance computing cluster at GSSM using the laptops and a recycled media rack.
