Lamar Egg Scramble starts today
“This is an exciting time for the Town of Lamar,” Mayor Randy Reynolds said. “The Egg Scramble is the staple festival for our community, and I look forward to everyone coming to see what Lamar has to offer.”
New events this year are the agricultural show and rodeo along with a different lineup for the Saturday entertainment roster.
The Lamar Egg Scramble Agriculture Show will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 3 at Main Street and Boykin Avenue, and the Diamond S Rodeos featuring the Lamar Egg Scramble Rodeo will be held from 8 to 11 p.m. April 2-3 at 323 Warren Avenue.
“We have added a few new things this year to bring in a new flavor to the Lamar Egg Scramble Jamboree. I anticipate a larger volume of people and the Town is preparing to celebrate Easter, so it should be an exciting time to all that attend, come on out and enjoy,” Town Development & Planning Director Victor Pizzurro said.
The Lamar Egg Scramble Carnival will provide rides, games and fun for the whole family April 1-3 on Pearl Street.
Downtown entertainment and vendors will be located on Main Street and Railroad Avenue from noon to 4 p.m. April 2 and from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. April 3.
The Classic Car Show will be from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 3 at United Methodist Church in Lamar.
Line up for the Lamar Egg Scramble Parade will be at 10 a.m. April 3 with the parade beginning at 11 a.m. at Lamar High School. The parade will travel on North Darlington Avenue to Lamar Baptist Church on Main Street.
The Lamar Egg Scramble Street Dance will be held from 6 to 10 p.m. April 2-3 on Main Street.
