New Govies Coming to Town
On Saturday, May 15th, the newly selected SC Governor’s School for Science and Mathematics (GSSM) Class of 2012 will come to Hartsville for spring orientation. This group of outstanding high-school scholars was selected earlier this month from an extremely competitive pool of the most accomplished 10th grade applicants from around the state.
During their visit, students and their parents will learn more about what life at GSSM is all about and what they can expect throughout the challenging 24-month program. They’ll also learn about their newly-adopted hometown of Hartsville as they explore the downtown and surrounding areas.
Please welcome these families to Hartsville if you run into them, and congratulate them on becoming part of GSSM!
