School District Establishes Facebook & Twitter Accounts

“Facebook and Twitter have become the main communication tools for many people of all ages,” said Dr. Rainey Knight, Superintendent. “We want to use every method we can to share news and information about our schools and district.”
The district has already begun to receive positive feedback about the Facebook page, which already has almost 400 fans. The Twitter account, “DCSD_SC” has far fewer followers so far but the district remains optimistic that the number will increase over time.
“This is new territory for us,” said Audrey Childers, Public Information Officer. “We are excited about the communication possibilities but mindful about the potential problems. We will continue to monitor the sites closely.”
