Vista Print is a rip off

DO NOT ORDER THE “FREE” BUSINESS CARDS ONLINE FROM VISTA PRINT!!!!  When you do, they enroll you in a couple of plans, one called shopping essentials and another called Bizmax that charge you $14.95 a month.
They are very nice and cancell your membership immediately when you call.  They even refund the last charge.  But how many times to some people not notice the charges until a few months have passed.

As much as I hate credit card companies - ordering online is one reason to have them. You can place an order - and if anything is fishy, or they try to enroll you in recurring fees, or you have troubles, you can always cancel the card and they have no further access to your money.
With a debit card - its much harder to do, and they have access to your whole checking account.

I tend to stick to big businesses when shopping online anyway, Amazon, Best Buy, TigerDirect, etc. Not only are they more trustworthy than “Bob’s EZ Market”, but easier to complain to.

I always do my online shopping in town, that way I feel good I’m shopping locally, instead of say, doing all my online shopping from Myrtle Beach or Columbia.

I also ordered from Vista Print and everything was fine. The only problem I had was stopping the emails that I received at least once per day.

Following good advice I read somewhere, I asked my bank to issue me 2 Visa credit cards in addition to the debit card I already have with my photo on it. One is for major purchases in stores, which I never really used, as I preferred to always use my debit card which drafts payments out of my checking account. The other, for Internet purchaes, I insisted on a credit limit of $300 to protect myself against identity theft. I’ve used it mainly for purchases from Amazon.com and Buy.com.
Well, my bank notified me by email that there were a series of suscpicious purchases on the “major card” that I do not use on the Internet. Three were charges from Vistaprint and two were big charges from Ritz Camera. Thanks to the alertness of the fraud dept. at my bank, the card was quickly cancelled and an investigation was begun.
I’ve no idea who stole that card number and used it for those purchases. I’ve never done business with Vistaprint or Ritz Camera. The bank won’t tell me how that happened. I repeat, the card had never been used on the Internet or any other place! I am very careful about my use of credit. And proud of my credit rating.
