GSSM celebrates second year of research exchange

Three students from the S.C. Governor’s School for Science and Mathematics (GSSM) shared a brief glimpse of their experiences working as summer research interns at the German Cancer Research Center in Heidelberg and helped welcome to GSSM three German exchange students who will spend the next six weeks engaged in similar research with the University of South Carolina.

School District Establishes Facebook & Twitter Accounts
In an effort to increase communication with parents and community members, the Darlington County School District has established a Facebook page and a Twitter account. Both are managed by the school district but open to anyone.

DARLINGTON - The Darlington County Board of Education gave unanimous final approval to a nearly $61 million general operations budget for the fiscal year along with more than $5.3 million in reductions and cost saving measures.

HHS graduation postponed

The Hartsville High School Graduation that was scheduled for 7 p.m. tonight is now postponed until tomorrow morning at 9 a.m. at the Kellytown Stadium. Students are asked to report to the stadium at 8 a.m. tomorrow.
